Located in the heart of the Island of Oahu is the vibrant and thriving town of Mililani. Once a sugar and pineapple plantation, the town now consists of two census designated places, Mililani Town and Mililani Mauka. Together these areas have an approximate 50,000 residents.
The first part of town, now referred to as Mililani Town was developed in the early 1960’s as a response to the growing need for housing. The first house was listed for sale on June 3, 1968.
In 1976 Interstate H2 opened up cutting the travel time from Mililani to Honolulu in half. Since then the area has steadily grew, and in the early 1990’s the second portion of town, Mililani Mauka was developed.

Middle school education is through the Mililani Middle school, and likewise for highschool at Mililani High School.
There are no post secondary institutes of higher learning currently within Mililani, however, nearby Honolulu is home to a number of colleges and universities for those wishing to continue their education.
There is a private school which is an option for those interested in alternative education. The Hanalani School provides faith based education for students in kindergarten through senior year of highschool.
Due to its elevated location, Mililani is full of abundance greeney and vegetation. The town has capitalized on this fact and ensured that every area is close to parks and public greenspace.
