Mililani is located in the very heart of Oahu, the very center of the incredible Hawaiian island. Set on a plateau between two volcanic mountains (Koolaus to the east and Waianaes to the west), Mililani is an elevated neighborhood in Honolulu and, as such, provides residents with some relief to the hot, tropical climate of Hawaii with cool, refreshing, breezy air.
Formerly made up of vast plantation fields, Mililani didn’t become a major residential area until the mid-1970s when Interstate H-2 was completed. This opened up easy transportation to and from the downtown core of Honolulu and made the Mililani neighborhood a more desirable location.
Mililani real estate is made up of single-family, detached homes, condominiums, and townhomes. There are no high-rise buildings like the more heavily populated neighborhoods in Honolulu, maintaining the original Hawaiin style of low-rise buildings and many ranch-style free-standing homes.
Mililani is one of the more affordable neighborhoods on the island of Oahu. The average cost of homes found in Mililani is approximately $689,000. Real estate in Mililani can be found from $225,000 to over $3,690,000.
