Ewa Villages, Ewa Beach Overview
Ewa Villages is a census designated area in the Ewa District. As of 2010, Ewa Villages was home to roughly 6,000 residents. Located inland from Ewa Beach along State Route 76 (Fort Weaver Road), Ewa Villages provides quick access to major throughways for commuters to either Honolulu or Oahu’s “second city” Kapolei.
Residents of Ewa Villages enjoy quiet and safe neighborhoods, a number of parks and greenspace and access to all that Ewa Beach has to offer. Since seeing growth and development, Ewa Beach has plenty of options for shopping, dining and entertainment.
Ewa Villages is one of the Islands older communities, and has a historic Hawaii feel. Many of the homes throughout Ewa Villages have State Historic Residence signs and upon reading many will find they were built as far back as 1920. Homes continued to be built until the 40’s and then development teetered off until a new surge of properties were constructed in the 80’s after the areas sugar plantations closed. In the past, those living in Ewa Beach would have to venture to neighboring towns and cities such as Kapolei or Honolulu to have access to a range of amenities.
