Lilipuna lies across Kamehameha Parkway from Windward Shopping center, taking up its namesake, Lilipuna Point. Many know it is similar to the piece of Windward Oahu nearest to Coconut Island. This is another Kaneohe community that can follow its beginnings to the 1950s when driving to Honolulu got regular with the new Pali Passage, and the populace started a post-war surge.
Lilipuna followed the pattern of the many other communities in the town that started to fill in. Those lots come in many sizes, from a low of over 3,200 square feet to 33,000 square feet on the oceanfront luxury homes. These are large, two-story homes, consisting entirely of three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms, but differing layouts from 1595 to 2323 square feet of living space. Despite being in a focal area of the neighborhood, certain property holders can look out to the ocean and the mountains and city.
