While the Turtle Bay Resort beach is open to the public, locals know to seek out the quieter Kuilima Cove and Bayview Beach, which is more of a local hangout rather than a tourist attraction.
Another scenic outing off the beaten path, a bit of a hidden gem of Kahuku, is Kawela Bay Beach Park. This fantastic bit of land can only be found after a bit of a hike through the shady canopy of trees. This secluded beach and park area is a local hotspot, the perfect place for a picnic, water sport, beach volleyball, or just a lazy day spent relaxing in the toasty Hawaiian sunshine. The trail to the beach is also a popular spot for horseback riding due to the tranquil surroundings, perfect for horses to walk the calm paths.
There are dozens of amazing, authentic restaurants and cuisine specialties in the Kahuku area. Residents are treated to fantastic dishes of a variety of ethnicities. Giovanni’s Aloha Shrimp truck is a neighborhood staple, the Kahuku Superette is known for its tasty poke, and there are so many more delectable discoveries.
For golf enthusiasts, you can’t beat the Kahuku Golf Course. This beautiful seaside course may not be the most challenging 18-hole golf course around, but it’s definitely the most scenic. Set along the shores of the ocean horizon, Kahuku Golf Course is praised for its laid back and picturesque setting.
