Hawaii is the only state in the US that is rabies-free. Hawaii's dog and cat import law is designed to protect residents, visitors and pets from the potentially serious health problems associated with the introduction and spread of rabies. All dogs and cats regardless of age (puppies and kittens included) or purpose, must comply with Hawaii’s dog and cat import requirements.

It is suggested that very old, very young (less than 9 weeks old), and chronically ill or debilitated animals should not be shipped. Pregnant animals past 40 days of gestation are prohibited from entering. Be cautious if your pet experience difficulties during hot periods (not only with the moving process, but Hawaii’s peak heat and humidity season is May through October). Any arrangements for pets with special medical requirements must be made prior to arriving.
