    Kuliouou real estate is located on Oahu's east side and is technically part of the Diamond Head region because of its distances down the Kalanianaole Highway. These stunning homes in this neighborhood generally sit in the flat section of the Koolau Mountains, where residents enjoy living in properties along the coast, in the quiet area boasting well-kept yards full of fruit trees and colorful flowers.

    Many of the newer homes were constructed as recently as 2007 and scattered homes throughout the neighborhood date back to the 30s. The majority of the homes were built in the 1980s, and several homes in the neighborhood were built as early as the 1950s and 1960s. Real estate in Kuliouou is made up of single-family homes offering 2 to 3 bedrooms and 1,100 to 1,900 square feet of living space. Larger homes in the area offer spacious 6+ bedrooms and over 3,000 square feet of living space. Many of these homes tend to be rental properties because of their separate individual living areas with private entrances. 

    Although Kuliouou properties can be found as large as 11,000 to 12,000 square foot lots, and even a few on impressive lots over 1 acre, many of the homes in this neighborhood do offer smaller lots in the 5,000 square feet range, and many have breathtaking views of the mountains rising around the entire community. Homes typically range in the high $600ks and quickly surpass $7 million. 

    Kuliouou neighborhood home's interior layouts often feature open living areas with high ceilings and fresh wood accents throughout. The vaulted ceilings in some of these homes can give the illusion of a more spacious, large room when actually space is quite limited. Kuliouou homes aren't luxurious, but they are very friendly, featuring clean, open designs, and are meticulously taken care of. 

    Living In Kuliouou, Honolulu

    Kuliouou homeowners enjoy proximity to shopping centers in Hawaii Kai, a quick 20-minute commute into downtown Honolulu. The residents are also a stone's throw away from beautiful beaches and parks, all located along Kalanianaole Highway. Kuliouou Beach Park is located on Oahu's south shore near Hawaii Kai. Residents spend sunny days here picnicking, playing basketball, or splashing in the nearshore waters. However, the park also has an expansive grassy area with tables and trees providing shade, making it a perfect lunchtime spot!

    The area has a rich history in that one point, and one family owned most of the valley. Today many family members still call Kuliouou home each year hosting a tradition where the family gathers for the Kuliouou Olympics, a famous event like no other on Oahu. Also, in Oahu, residents can experience one-of-a-kind festivals, cultural performances, stage shows, musical events, and sports competitions throughout the whole year.

    Kuliouou is home to some of the most serene scenery with plenty of natural trails in and around the community. Trails in the area are great for both beginners and advanced hikers, making them perfect for the whole family. The famous trail residents have access to is Kuliouou Ridge Trail offering a peaceful hike full of beautiful tree-lined paths.
