Kahala Mall is made up of a number of shops and businesses including many large name brands such as Whole Foods, Apple, Banana Republic, Macy’s, and Ross Dress for Less. Waialae is home to one of the most renowned private country clubs in Hawaii. The Waialae Country Club is home to a world-famous, championship 18-hole golf course. Designed by Seth Raynor, the course was founded in 1927 and the club followed in the 1940s. Waialae Country Club is host to the Sony Open in Hawaii on the PGA Tour. The club also offers tennis courts, a swimming pool, a Golf Pro Shop, as well as fantastic dining options. In 2014, the Hale Ohana Ola (House of Family and Fitness) was added to the already fantastic club. This multi-functional fitness annex is available to all members and their families. Oceans, the outdoor dining facility, was also opened at this time and features live, local entertainment.
The Waialae Beach Park is a beautiful section of greenery open to the public. The beaches don’t have the best swimming conditions due to the shallow reef, but farther out into the waters is fantastic surfing opportunities. Many visitors to the Waialae Beach take advantage of the surfing and windsurfing conditions on gorgeous sunny days. The park area is frequented by picnickers and fishers. The Waialae Beach Park is home to some stunning scenery, especially when watching the sunsets reflect off of the outstretching ocean.
