About Punchbowl, Honolulu, Real Estate
Punchbowl, Honolulu, is a coveted neighborhood just minutes from the thriving downtown core of Honolulu, Oahu. The area is known as being divided into two sections: Lower Punchbowl and Upper Punchbowl.
Lower Punchbowl hugs the foothills of the volcano. Due to the relatively flat land, built up condominiums are the dominant residential buildings in this section of the neighborhood, though there are a few free-standing homes as well.
Upper Punchbowl is home to some of the wealthier families in Honolulu and was actually home to some of the first families to settle in the area. Many of the stately homes set into the slopes are quite old, having been built when those families first moved to the area. The high grounds of Upper Punchbowl provide striking, panoramic views of the city and the ocean horizon. Most of the houses in this area are worth over $1 million.
The median real estate costs in the Punchbowl neighborhood is approximately $514,500 with houses in the lower area ranging between $299,000 and $750,000 and the homes in Upper Punchbowl costing well over $1 million.
Several of the homes in this neighborhood were designed by the famous architect, Vladimir Ossipoff. Living in Punchbowl may be more costly than other areas of Oahu, but the price is well worth it.
